Designed to meet the LEED™ Gold standard, The Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health is the largest brain health and research centre in Canada. The most notable feature of the building’s design is the extensive use of high performance glass. Columbia’s unitized and stick built curtain wall glazing systems flood the building with natural light. The glass used for the Atrium is fritted with a pattern of neurons which were the inspiration for the centers design. The total area of glass on this project is 75,000 sq ft. Columbia Glazing worked directly with the UBC Properties Trust on this project.
